Since beginning of this season the promising training centre cooperates with the Metropolklinik at Hefnersplatz in Nuremberg. The NLZ-Players of year steps U9 to U15 get dental-medical precaution investigations by the team of Dr. Matthias Weiler. These dental prophylaxes are no edition of the DFL (German Soccer League), however they are recommended.
The SpVgg Greuther Fürth belongs to few clubs in Germany, which carry out this measure besides general sports-medical investigations. And for good reason, as dentist Dr. Weiler confirms: “During young years the body can still compensate a lot but the older the children become, the more e.g., tooth displacement or wisdom teeth, do affect the body. Muscular problems can absolutely be a result of it.”
According to the investigations the Metropolklinik issues every Player a written dental evidence. The recommended treatments can be carried out alternatively with the “house-dentist” or directly in the clinic. According to junior coordinator Konrad Fünfstück, the precaution investigations are accepted very positively by the parents:”Until now, everybody has accepted the offer with thanks. The parents notice, that the soccer-club does not only look for the footballer´s broad, but also for children´s health.”
Besides dental prophylaxis the Metropolklinik offers several other appointments for parents and their children which inform them about dental-hygiene or healthy nutrition. Moreover, the “Cloverleaf” has its own emergency phone-number which can be used even on weekends.
